The Navakholo Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Emmanuel Wangwe, has made significant contributions to the school, particularly with the construction of an eight-classroom CDF-funded storey building, which has greatly enhanced the school’s infrastructure. The principal expressed gratitude to the MP for his commitment to transforming the school into a center of excellence and remains hopeful for further developments aimed at improving the lives of the local community.
However, the school faces challenges with poor and delayed fee payments, which hinder its ability to keep all students consistently enrolled. “Parental involvement in maintaining discipline while students are at home is also a concern,” the principal noted.
Another issue is understaffing, which necessitates the hiring of additional Board of Management (BOM) teachers, increasing the school’s wage bill significantly.
On a positive note, the school is active in co-curricular activities, which provide students with opportunities to engage in sports and balance academics with extracurricular interests. The school boasts strong teams in boys’ football, netball, and volleyball for both boys and girls, excelling in sub-county competitions and beyond.
The principal urged the 102 current candidates to emulate the discipline and dedication of the previous class and strive to surpass the academic targets set for them.
