The 2024 candidates put the school in the limelight again by posting good results which saw them improve gradually from 3.84(2023) mean score to 5.22 in a class of 169 and 44 of them secured slots in joining university under the Kenya universities and colleges central placement service (KUCCPS) selection. Positive deviation of +1.3756 was recorded.
This year candidates have put in a spirited effort in achieving the target of 6.45 who are 190 in number and working day and night in ensuring that they even surpass it.
A mixed day school strategically located adjacent to Makunga centre has a student population of 645 managed by 20 TSC teachers together with 4 on BOM terms.
The vibrant academic programs put in place; discipline among students, re-teaching on topical subjects, students placed in ability groups,team- teaching among teachers, introduction of lunch hours meant for mathematics quick testing and marking, motivational programs for both learners and teachers plus intensity teaching in practicals in sciences in third term for candidates which has vehemently contributed to good performance being realized.
Early syllabus coverage in all classes has enabled candidates to be exposed to as many mock exams as possible so that they can familiarize the concepts of handling national examinations. They do exam benchmarking among best performing schools in order to build confidence and the best modes of tackling complex papers.
Principal Elphas Mudeheli urged this year candidates to do better and not wait to be followed because standards have been set by their predecessors and it has improved lives they are propagating.
Mr Mudeheli, the Mumias East sub-county KESSHA treasurer joined the school in 2019 and has ensured that every end year final examinations have been improving gradually and would wish the trend to be followed even if he goes elsewhere.

Discipline of the school and the support from the community is exemplary, not to mention the sponsorship from the church of God. “This school is deemed for greatness and standards set are a clear sign for growth in the school. We shall be always available for any consultations if need be for the betterment of these children,” implode Mudeheli.
He echoed sentiments from other principals in requesting the ministry of education to disperse capitation promptly and remit the the whole amount,so that schools’ operations are not compromised.
Mr Joseck Barasa, deputy principal gave credit to his colleagues for the support and resilience shown towards academic improvement.
He encouraged them to remain steadfast in ensuring that students’ progress is the core aspect and improve the community lives since a majority of the students come from within.

Director of studies, Lilian Yide and school’s quality assurance and standards officer, madam Mildred Mukolwe promised to continue in supervision of studies especially during extra- hours and weekends.
They added that revision is compulsory for homework through enough assignments. Saturdays have been earmarked for meditation and speed tests in all subjects simultaneously.
There is congestion in school because it is built on a half an acre piece of land,yet students’ population is ever growing which forces them to seek assistance from the primary section.
