The Kenya National Examination Council has officially released the timetable for the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams. Rehearsals are set for October 17,2025 a session aimed to familiarize candidates with examination protocals and ensure smooth process during the examination period. The exams are set to begin on October 21, 2025 with French orals, German orals, Kenyan Sign Language and music practicals being the first papers. The final paper, Psychics paper 3, will be done on November 21, 2025.
“The early release of the timetable is a measure to help students and learners to adequately prepare for the forthcoming examinations,” said KNEC CEO Dr David Njeng’ere.
The first session of the examinations will begin at 8 am and the second session at 2 pm. Candidates are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before the set time to avoid any discrepancies. They should also avoid possessing electrical devices within the examination centers as this will lead to automatic disqualification.
“The center managers should ensure that the supervisors and invigilators deployed to their centers have not served in the same center for three consecutive years,” said Dr Njeng’ere, adding that supervisors must verify that all candidates have signed their answer scripts and that the scripts collected tally with the number of students sitting the examination.
The CEO also noted that teachers must ensure students understand the examination guidelines to avoid irregularities and penalties for malpractice.
The detailed 2025 KCSE examination timetable along with instructions and guidelines is available on the official KNEC website. Registration of candidates wishing to sit the exams commenced on February 17,2025 and is set to end on March 28th, this year.
