The success is not coincidental-it is the result of meticulous planning, early syllabus completion, rigorous revision programs, and a teaching staff that goes beyond their means to shape future leaders.

Unwavering support from the BoM led by chair Dr. Zachariah Shitote, parents association, education stakeholders and the political wing especially from the Mahiakalo MCA Hon. Modesta Auka who supported the school with 200 thousand shillings plus other assortment.

The Lurambi constituency member of parliament Hon. Titus Khamala has constructed a tuition storey building and promised to add 2 M for the completion of the same structure especially in the floor by putting terrazzo and has put aside another 2 M for the bursaries when schools open for second term.

“I have set a side 55 millions for bursaries for all students in the constituency who have applied. So far,I have about 12 thousand students who should benefit from the bursaries,” roared Khamala.

The school has once again proven its dominance in the education sector through the thanksgiving day/ endowment fund which is meant to help the needy students who come from vulnerable and humble beginnings.

However, the school’s elegance doesn’t stop in the classroom. It is a powerhouse in co-curricular activities especially in hockey where a good number of players feature for Youth hockey national team. Volleyball, soccer, netball and indoor games are among the notable activities, not to mention drama and music which reaches nationals always.

The principal has revolutionised the institution spearheading state- of- the – art infrastructure developments and renovation of old buildings in the spirit to facelift the school’s image.

Shieywe is destined in becoming a national beacon of academic and co-curricular excellence from its unstoppable momentum by remaining committed to setting higher records in expanding education boundaries.

This is the result of teamwork, dedication among teachers and the belief in our students is our purpose to nurture dreams into possibilities for a better future,” reiterated the principal.

It is worth noting that the school offers free service to the community once per term because most of the neighbours come from humble backgrounds and that’s where many students come from. They accept fees in kind a move meant to limit absenteeism which is rampant among day schools but urge parents to improve in fee payment because some have neglected their roles and obligations.

There is a vibrant alumni that gives breakfast for 2 weeks during KCSE time. It also sponsors needy and bright students, they give sanitary towels to girls yearly and are at optimal stage in constructing a modern gate for the school.

It’s vice-chair Mr. Edwin Juma ,a teacher at Sulumeti girls kakamega town gave a donation of Ksh 20,000/= from their members in an aide towards the endowment kitty during the AGM held recently.

The school has its fair share of challenges ranging from poor fee payment, supports many needy students in paying their fees and above all, the removal of asbestos which is in line with the government’s directive. The school happens to have almost all their roofs fitted with asbestos hence is calling on well wishers in raising around 3M for the whole process which is expensive and yet schools don’t have money even for daily survival.
