Gov Barasa Exposes Rogue Politicians Over Bursary Lies

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has strongly dismissed what he terms as falsehoods being spread by a section of rogue politicians regarding the county’s bursary programme. This comes in the wake of a recent court ruling that lifted restrictions on counties, allowing them to resume the issuance of bursaries for the current financial year.

Governor Barasa reassured residents that the Kakamega County Government remains committed to supporting education and will disburse bursaries in May, immediately after funds are released by the National Treasury.

“Leadership is anchored on truth, transparency, and service to the people—not propaganda,” Governor Barasa stated.

He urged leaders to uphold integrity and focus on development rather than misleading the public for political gain.

The county’s bursary programme has played a crucial role in supporting thousands of needy students across Kakamega, and the governor affirmed that the initiative remains a top priority for his administration.
