MP Peter Salasya Vows to Enhance Education Programs in Mumias East Through Increased Funding

Mumias East Member of Parliament, Hon. Peter Kalerwa Salasya, has pledged to allocate additional funds to school programs through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) for the 2024/2025 financial year to foster growth and development in education.

The MP assured school principals that he would continue disbursing bursary cheques on time, as he has consistently done, to ensure students remain in school and fully engage with their education.

“My priority is to improve learning in my constituency, and I am committed to this wholeheartedly because I, too, was a bursary beneficiary during my academic journey,” Hon. Salasya stated.

The meeting, which brought together school heads from Mumias East sub-county, focused on reviewing strategies and setting future goals to improve their schools’ mean scores.

During the session, Mumias East KESSHA treasurer, Mr. Elphas Mudeheli Chumba, criticized the Ministry of Education for delays in releasing capitation funds. He noted that these delays were hindering the effective implementation of academic programs, thereby stagnating learning progress.
