St Cecilia Lufumbo girls’ is a Catholic sponsored and county school who performed exceedingly well in the 2024 KCSE having attained a mean score of 5.5 that saw 39 candidates promoted to university out of a class of 119.
3 streams school has 400 student population guided by 23 teachers of 13 are employed by TSC, while 10 contracted by BOM terms. A day and boarding girls’ school had to endure an extra-mile policy for consultation, analysing topical content for revision, timely syllabus completion and an increase in the number of testing, helped the candidates to internalize the Kenya National examination council expectations. A good number of candidates got Bs, grades that have put the school on high scales of performance.

Awarding top performance helped to identify candidates placed as academic families who were expected to go beyond school working hours in ensuring that the rest of the class are at same wavelength.Ability grouping for slow candidates were designed to help teach them at their pace which helped forĀ harmonization and grasp the national exams concept.
The school do Catholic diocese evaluation exams with other Catholic sponsored schools and the proper preparation propelled the school to emerge among the most improved in Butere sub-county. It is the only girls’ school found in Marama North offering scholarship program to the bright and needy girls.
A young school is growing at a terrific speed with her discipline being above average and cleanliness which is the driving force for existence since the principal, Alice Andanje joined the school in2021.

The BOM together with the principal have put up a classroom,principal’s house, finished a dormitory and bathrooms for students and a 4 storey classrooms building almost completed.
In co-curricular activities they have a vibrant Drama, music and scouting that goes up to regionals and they are coming up with soccer girls.
